Current Initiative

The Red Balloon Project is thrilled to partner with Calvary Rescue Mission for a second year this holiday season! We are providing 300 children in need with Christmas bags filled with a variety of gifts. Help us spread a little Christmas cheer by donating any of the following items:

Toys no bigger than a basketball for the following ages:

    • 2-5
    • 6-9
    • 10-12

Additional needs:

    • A few Bikes
    • Socks
    • Gloves
    • Crayons
    • Some oversized door prize toys

All donations must be dropped off or submitted by December 13th. Please email me at amanda@amandawjohnson.com to coordinate toy drop off.

If you would prefer to make a monetary donation, click the button below. 100% of your donation will go towards the toy drive. You will receive a tax receipt back immediately upon donation.

2021 Initiatives

Red Balloon Project partnered with the City of Memphis, Constance Abbey and local restaurants including Babalu, Erling Jensen and Kevin Sullivan of Tsunami to prepare hot meals for three warming centers to feed those in need. Local On The Square provided breakfasts to help support Constance Abbey. We served 1,200 hot meals from 6 different restaurants in 5 days!

Kevin Sullivan from Tsuami preparing rice for 250 hungry mouths in need at the beginning of the pandemic when volunteers were sheltering in place and unable to prepare daily meals for the homeless.

December 2020 Initiatives

Partnered with Calvary Rescue Mission in Memphis, Tennessee, for the “Men’s Christmas Celebration,” providing them individually wrapped snacks, Christmas candy, fruits and nuts to add to the men’s Christmas bags.

Partnered with Constance Abbey, in Memphis Tennessee,  providing their community with sleeping bags, blankets, gloves, handwarmers and socks.

Partnered with the Society of  St. Vincent’s De Paul in Memphis, Tennessee, providing them with hand sanitizers and face masks.
