Protect Your Peace

A few weeks ago, we welcomed two new, furry, 11-week-old, Holland Lop friends to our home named Lilly and Iris. Charlie has been begging us for his very own pet for years. We finally caved and agreed to getting him two bunnies (welcoming all prayers 😊). Since he has had day camp for the last few weeks, I have gotten to spend a lot of time with them both, in between work calls and emails. To no surprise, they are a lot of work. We are litterbox training them, so every hour I go in the sunroom, where they reside, to poop scoop. When I do, I am quickly drawn into their calming and magical presence. Just a few minutes of giving them love completely shifts the physiology of body. My heart rate decreases, my chest loosens up and I can almost feel my neurotransmitters firing. I keep reminding Charlie that our biggest goal for these precious bunnies is to provide them with a safe, loving, and peaceful home.

Spending quiet time with them each day has made me think a lot about our peace as humans. As time passes, I continue to realize both the importance and power of protecting my internal peace. So, consider this message as a gentle and loving nudge from the universe (or Lilly and Iris 😊), encouraging you to become clear on what brings you joy, while recognizing the things that rob you of your peace. Do more of the things that light you up. Actively work towards eliminating the things that strip away your peace. Whether it be toxic relationships or choices that you continue to make that create anxiety and rob you of your joy, today, make one step towards peace. Because small changes over time have the power to create a refreshing and hopeful new landscape.  You deserve peace in your life. And you my friend hold the key……
